Of course you should come visit the IBM Islands! Just click the “map” button down below and type “IBM” in the search box, then select the island and click teleport. You can also search for “almaden”, one of the first IBM islands in SL, and my homebase. I’ll give you the nickel tour if I have time.

I can understand your initial response considering your ’sheltered life’ experiences.
Though ‘virtual’, Second Life is a big world – for that you need a broader and open mind. Virtual doesn’t necessarily mean not real. Try again – try longer – try without expectations – you may get to like it.
