AT&T does NOT get blogging

Blogging delivered.

Whoa. AT&T! Really now.

I doubt you even get it.

I know I’m not a big time blogger but clearly if you have a social media strategy and employ Social Media listening tools such as Technorati and even just Google, for crying out loud, you might find your way to my AT&T hell posts. I even tried to help you out by commenting on the only AT&T Weblog I could find but unfortunately you decided not to publish my comment. All I said was that the iPhone’s biggest flaw is AT&T and that it is a shame that the Apple brand is getting dragged into AT&T hell. I’ve left my e-mail address and my blog’s URL in case you really needed that much hand-holding.

AT&T, I’m not a confrontational person, I really just wanted you to provide the basic service my employer is paying for you to provide. You  know, so I can work. They’re cool like that.  You promised to deliver us “our world” and so far it’s really just been a let down. We’ve gone through the proper chain of command hoping to get some sort of resolution from you but your account managers are useless and have gone AWOL on us. One of your regional managers even attempted to sneak out the door without resolving or escalating our issue.

Maybe I’m too small of a blogger for you to care about that you decided not to publish my comment. I don’t believe I violated accepted Blogger Code of Ethics rules in my comment and I really just don’t understand why you won’t publish it. I’m wondering what your policies are, but in case you don’t have one, you might want to check out this post by Charlene Li of Forrester.

AT&T, you need a community manager or some sort of a Social Media Relations type of person. Surely a telecom giant like you could afford one. Unsure of what that role might be? You might want to see Jeremiah Owyang’s post on what that role entails, or maybe you can also check out Nathan Gilliatt’s post on Defining Social Media Relations. You should also read Nathan’s post Responding to Bloggers.

I hope that was helpful. Hopefully you’ll get blogging soon and maybe then, you can put some meaning behind your ad.

Update: My comment on the AT&T blog has been approved and now shows on this post.

Nick, you make an interesting prediction there. I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all. Thanks for stopping by.
