A few quick thoughts

Just a few thoughts.

…on 3G vs. EDGE on the iPhone. Sheesh. It really hasn’t been an issue for me, but then it’s not like I’m doing anything on my iPhone that requires a whole lot of bandwidth and for the times that I do, there’s usually a wifi network I can tap into. And yes, I’d have to admit that I was also a bit reluctant to trade in my 3G phone for the iPhone for the same reason, but after having my phone for several months now I really don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Now that’s just me. Here’s a nice post on why EDGE actually delivers better user experience than 3G.

…that Lunch20 is not good for my diet. Three Lunch20s in seven-day period! Thanks to Meebo for hosting lunch + Developer Camp (11/30), to Mozilla for pizza (can we have Maui Zaui next time?) and to Loopt for a nice lunch + performance from Tom and Rick Pernikoff. Message to whoever the song Girl was for: Dudette — Move to Palo Alto already.

…that I’m still not buying a Kindle. So it’s out of stock, eh? Yeah, according to the same retailer that also says the Zune is their hottest selling item. Not saying they’re making it up. Just sayin there’s something else at work here. Any thoughts? But anyhoo. Enough about what I think. Check these posts out from the Free Range Librarian and Pattern Recognition blogs.

An in case you missed Scoble’s one-week review, you can find it here.

Oh. And Oh. No. She didn’t.

But she did! And did a great job at it too. Anne Gentle compared the Kindle to the OLPC. A must Digg!

…on the new Google Homepage UI for the iPhone. Quit whining about how the mail tab brings you to the web version of Gmail and how the calendar tab only shows you upcoming events. Your iPhone has a gmail client. And a calendar client. Use them. And yes, you CAN sync your Google calendar with iCal and with your iPhone. Now go figure it out, you early adopter you.

…must…think…happy thoughts.
