Eight Things…

My last post was a bit misconstrued…my bad for being so vague, so thought I’d clear it up…I’m not depressed and I’m not moving to a new job. :-) It was a simple thought on experimentation and the complexity of doing it in an organizational setting. I don’t usually do memes, but I can’t let that post linger and I haven’t got much time to come up with a new one.

Meme courtesy of Jeremiah Owyang, Eight Things You Didn’t Know About Me:

  1. I was a Journalism major. My minor was in Administration of Criminal Justice.
  2. My very first paying job while in college was as a research assistant for the International Institute of Surface Transportation Policy Studies, where I worked on the project “Terrorism in Surface Transportation.” The year was 1997, way before 9/11 and the project had very little visibility. Ah. Hindsight.
  3. When I was a kid my sister and I used to catch what we thought were little guppies from a nearby pond. We took dozens and dozens of them home and put them in little fish bowls all around the house. They were cute for a while, until they started growing legs and their tails got shorter and eventually disappeared and soon started jumping out of the fish bowls.
  4. I met my husband at the library. It’s a running joke that he’s an overdue book, and I’m (gladly) paying my dues.
  5. I play the piano.
  6. I was born and raised in the Philippines, moved to California in 1993 when I was 15.
  7. I have a habit of mutilating pens during meetings. I suppose I have the Restless Hand Syndrome.
  8. Something my husband and children didn’t even know: I am really good at catching dragonflies.
